- Although this storyline only spans four issues, two of those issues are Giant Sized, making it's actual print length roughly equivalent to a 6 issue story.
- Although Iron Man and Doctor Doom had crossed paths prior to this storyline, their rivalry is officially cemented here. Michelinie and Layton chose Doom as a nemesis for Iron Man because they felt that the Mandarin was too difficult to modernize.
