"Happy" Hogan, who is portrayed by actor and director Jon Favreau, is a character that appears in the Iron Man Trilogy movies. He is Tony Stark's personal chauffeur, trainer, and bodyguard.

[1] Jon Favreau, who also directed Iron Man and Iron Man 2, portrays Hogan in both films and reprised the role in Iron Man 3.[1]

Happy is a chubby, but slightly muscular person in appearance.

History

Iron Man (film)

In Iron Man, Happy is seen as Tony's chauffer and bodyguard. He is also seen smoking.

Iron Man 2

After Tony finishes his Stark Expo opening, Happy escorts him outside the building with a couple of other bodyguards, while going through the crowd as Tony signs some autographs of the people. When they finally reach outside, they see a woman standing beside Tony's Audi Ri Spyder car, who is from the government bureaucracy to give Tony a letter about a court meeting the following day. Tony gladly accepts, after she shows him her badge. Happy then seats beside Tony in the car, as Tony drives to head home.

He plays boxing with Tony in the gym.

Iron Man 3

He first appears warning Tony over the phone that Aldrich Killian is inside Stark Industries. Soon after he is severely injured in one of The Mandarin's attacks involving Eric Savin and goes to a hospital. Towards the end of the film, he is seen mostly recovered in the hospital bed, where is seen flirting with the nurse.

Trivia

  • The scene where Happy is in the hospital, after he was injured, may have been based on the same scene in the comics after the Spymaster attacked him and left him brain-dead in the hospital, in the Civil War story arc.
